Furniture Redesign Process

We are passionate about the vintage furniture redesign process. We take classic vintage pieces and transform them into irresistible, timeless pieces with a chic twist.

First, we scour antique shops, estate sales, auctions, and web sites across the country to find vintage, American-made furniture. Designers such as: Baker, Drexel Heritage, Henredon, Karges, Ficks Reed, Bodart and Kindel have created high quality pieces that never go out of style. The wood and craftsmanship from the 50’s through the 80’s is much higher quality than that used today. This is why these pieces, combined with our unique design application, are truly timeless, one-of-a-kind, investment pieces. In most cases, it may take less time to redesign a vintage piece than it would to order a new one.

It starts with the piece – each one tells you what it needs.

Then, we assess the piece to determine the appropriate design technique and color scheme to apply. We love to apply Hollywood Regency, Chinoiserie Chic, French and Italian styles. We also get inspiration from fashion trends, art and architecture.

Finally, our furniture redesign process includes collaboration with our skilled and experienced artisans who bring the pieces to life through lacquer, painting, new hardware and upholstery fabric. Some of our favorite fabric designers include: Scalamandre, Brunshwig & Fils, Clarence House, Lulu DK, Cowtan & Tout, Schmacher and Spoonflower.

The products we use to refinish the pieces are high quality, just like the furniture itself, which ensures the pieces will last over time.
